no they should be smart enough to see if there kid is heavier then they are and age 5 then theres a problem that sick and discusting to see a fat kid i just want to slap there fat and laugh at them to teach them to STOP EATING

No. There are many reasons why children have weight issues and most of these cannot be cured by court mandating the parents to go through parenting and nutrition classes. The best thing to do is for the child in question to have a full medical work-up done and then if there is no underlying health issue found as a basis for the weight issue, the next steps can be taken to find a supportive way for this particular child to find a way to lose their weight. Sending the parents of the child to parenting or nutrition classes could, in fact, cause more issues between the parents and the child and end up making the weight issue even worse.

even if they do attend these classes they will continue to feed them what they themselves eat…..there are ppl that bareley eat and weight 300 lbs some is genetics and some is just laziness….i suppose it looks bad if the general population of America is fat but i dont think the government should have anything to do with it…..and ….if they ARE ordered to take these classes and decide not to …then do they get fined… jail?? our jails are already full of ppl that NEED to be there going to jail because your child is obese is ridiculous…

I do think the parents should take responsiblity for their kids well being but I don’t think the government should be that involved with parenting. It’s not like the parents are putting the kids in immediate danger like beating them or something like that.

That might be a good idea. I don’t think you can enforce something like that, but it could be offered for parents who really do care about their children’s health.

I think the parents should have the kids taken away and then the parents should be sterilized and not allowed to have other kids. If they are too stupid to know how to care for a child…don’t give them the privilege.

I blame the parents. I blame society. It’s totally environmental. If people weren’t so lazy…if they wouldn’t feed their kids that fatfood garbage…if they’d cook for a change…if kids would get off their ***** and go outside, we wouldn’t have this problem!

It’s horrible. It causes diabetes, heart problems, I mean the health risks are phenominal!

Society as a whole should DO SOMETHING. So if parenting classes becomea means to resolve the problem, then yes!

II think the same thing should go into affect for people that let their kids slut-around or dress like hookers. How about the people that let thier kids run wild with no morals, ethics or values? The people who let their kids drink, do drugs, have ***…I mean society as a whole needs to be re-evaluated. It’s become ridiculous…I was at the store the other day and I saw a skirt in the juniors department that was shorter than a tubetop! It’s horrifying….makes me wonder what life will be like by the time my kids turn 18.
